Previously on Through the Looking Glass.

What a rollercoaster!

So 2019 was pretty busy and chaotic
but 2020, it's kind of shitty...

Let it be known that I'm so grateful to be able to make it through these tough times with my family. But as I see around me and the news, other people in my community, this is a pretty bad time for most people. Let me correct myself, this pandemic isn't over. It won't be over anytime soon. This is the new normal. Mother nature is asserting herself as the strong queen she is and saying we should sit down, be humble and get our priorities in check ✔.

As I sit here having a late breakfast with the kids, I gave another thought in making my presence in social media outlets.  Since being home, I enhanced my skills in cooking, baking, sewing (clothes repair and making), and educating (preK-1rst). I found that being a stay at home mom was demanding on its own. It came to be a labor of love that I didn't realize til I was smack dab in quarantine. I got to really know my kids inside and out. Had I continued working myself ragged (which I always do), I would not have the energy to play and be a cool goofy mom. #supermom #superkids

Quarantine. I never have been in a quarantine and neither was anyone else in my circle of friends. Each day I watched the news with anticipation and anxiety. Even still there was this little voice in the back of my head saying "this could end in the zombie apocalypse or death of population via anarchy". It is still surreal that our world is struggling with the pandemic and our protective safety belts either government or environment have no solution or direction to aim. We are all in this together. We all are apart of this world.

Getting my shit together. I decided that I needed to live an eco friendly lifestyle and more independent from buying products that have a long term effect on the environment. Minimalism and zero waste methods were my expectation for this family and I would be consistent with this since I left my work in January. I'm planting veggies and learning to can good that I've grown. I'm more aware of fabrics and clothing necessities. I'm not where I want to be with my goals but I'm getting closer. There have been some hiccups along the way. My beloved husband is hard to convince but not impossible. As for my kids, yes they contribute to our our waste and clean lifestyle. #uphillbattle #krazykids

Well, I'll check in soon and hopefully fill in the blanks next time.

Bye.
